AI Girlfriend Video Generators: What They Produce and What They Cost

Three numbers decide whether an AI girlfriend video generator is worth paying for: how long a clip runs, whether the character survives from one clip to the next, and what a single generation costs.

Almost no tool in this category publishes all three.

The missing numbers are the finding here. Where a figure is published, it is quoted with its source. Where it is not, this says so instead of estimating.

The unit is a few seconds, not a scene

Video models generate short clips. Anything longer is several clips stitched together.

The clearest published figure comes from the open side. Alibaba's Wan 2.2 model card states that its TI2V-5B model can generate a five-second 720p video, unoptimised, in under nine minutes on a single consumer-grade GPU, at 24 frames per second.

Five seconds. That is the working unit, and the commercial apps are not producing something categorically longer.

Promptchan lists "Full-Length AI Videos + Extend" as a Pro feature. Read the second half of that: extend exists because the first generation ends, and you push it further in another pass.

No number of seconds is published anywhere on the plan page. "Full-length" is a marketing word here, not a specification.

Consistency is decided by the starting frame

This is the part that separates a usable set of clips from a folder of near-misses, and it comes down to one architectural choice.

Text-to-video samples the character fresh from your prompt every time. Two runs of the same prompt give you two different women.

Image-to-video pins the first frame. You hand the model a reference image and it animates that, so the face you already approved is the face that moves.

Wan 2.2's documentation describes exactly this split, shipping separate T2V and I2V models. ComfyUI's official Wan 2.2 guide describes the I2V template as transforming static images into video "with precise motion control and style preservation".

Chaining clips without the face drifting

ComfyUI's guide also carries a first-last frame workflow, described as generating transitions by defining start and end frames.

That is the mechanism for a sequence rather than a single clip. Pin clip two's opening frame to clip one's closing frame and the identity carries across the cut.

Companion apps do a simplified version of this behind the scenes, anchoring generations to your character's saved reference image. You do not get the controls, you get the result.

The apps hide the machinery, and they hide the numbers too.

What Promptchan publishes

Promptchan is the clearest of the commercial options because its plan page is public and does not require an account to read.

Video is gated to the top tier alone. Its FAQ states it directly: full-length AI videos, including extend, are part of the Pro plan.

Pro is $33.99 a month and includes unlimited casual generations plus 800 Gems. The tiers below it are Plus at $14.99 with 100 Gems and Premium at $23.99 with 400 Gems, and neither lists video at all.

Gems are the credit currency. The page publishes the Gem cost of a voice message at 1 and a voice call at 2, but it does not publish the Gem cost of a video.

So the per-generation price, the thing you most need to plan a set, is the one number missing. Budget by watching your own balance for the first few runs.

What Candy AI publishes

Candy AI lists "Generate 18+ Videos" among its Premium benefits, alongside creating your own characters, unlimited text messages and 100 tokens per month.

Clip length is not stated on that page, and neither is the token cost of a video. The displayed subscription price also shifts with whichever promotion is running when you load it.

Billing appears on your statement as EverAI, the Malta-registered company behind the platform, which is worth knowing before the charge lands.

The strongest video models are closed to this

Google's Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy, last modified 17 December 2024, governs Veo alongside its other generative products.

It bans sexually explicit activity outright, defined as "content created for the purpose of pornography or sexual gratification". A separate clause bans facilitating non-consensual intimate imagery.

That is the normal position across the mainstream video labs, not the strict end of the range. It means the models with the best motion and the best faces are not available for this work at any price.

Your real choice is narrower than the search results suggest: adult-permitting apps that publish very little, or open models you run yourself.

Running it yourself

Wan 2.2 is released under the Apache 2.0 licence, and ComfyUI's guide confirms that covers commercial use provided you keep the copyright notice and licence text.

The 5B model is the accessible one. ComfyUI's documentation states it should fit on 8GB of VRAM with native offloading, which puts it inside reach of a mid-range gaming card.

The 14B models are a different proposition. Wan's own repository notes that the command it gives for the 14B image-to-video model needs a GPU with at least 80GB of VRAM, so that tier is rented cloud hardware rather than a desktop.

ComfyUI ships native templates for all four modes: the 5B hybrid, 14B text-to-video, 14B image-to-video and first-last frame.

The cost does not vanish here, it changes shape. No credit meter, but a GPU, an install, and nine minutes of your own compute per five-second clip on the accessible model.

Where the consent line sits

Everything above is covered here for synthetic characters. Generating video of a real, identifiable person in intimate imagery is a different act with its own law.

The TAKE IT DOWN Act, Public Law 119-12, approved 19 May 2025, defines a digital forgery as any intimate visual depiction of an identifiable individual created through software, machine learning or artificial intelligence.

It adds a threshold: the result has to be indistinguishable, viewed as a whole by a reasonable person, from an authentic depiction of that individual.

The statute writes in terms of visual depiction rather than listing formats, and takes that term by cross-reference from 15 U.S.C. 6851 rather than restating it.

Publishing one without consent, where it causes or is intended to cause harm, carries a fine and up to two years. Where the person depicted is a minor, up to three.

Platform terms move faster than statutes and apply wherever you are sitting. An Apache 2.0 licence on a model grants you the weights, not immunity from the law that governs what you point them at.

Which route to take
