AI Girlfriend Apps With Unlimited Messages: Which Ones Actually Deliver

Almost every AI girlfriend app will tell you messages are unlimited, and on most of them that is true. It is also rarely the limit that ends a long conversation.

The caps that bite sit elsewhere: which model answers you, how much of the conversation it can still see, how far back the log is kept, and whether your history survives a month of not logging in.

Here is what four platforms publish about each, read on 19 August 2026.

CrushOn AI: unlimited on the cheap models, metered on the good ones

CrushOn AI is the most specific of the four, and its pricing page shows the pattern in one column.

Every tier, free included, carries the line "Unlimited access to Free Models". Every tier also carries a monthly allowance of message credits, because the better models are charged per message.

Credits a month on crushon.ai/pricing, read 19 August 2026:

• Free: 100, with Ultra Models listed as unavailable
• Standard: 2,000, at $58.88 a year
• Premium: 6,000, at $94.88 a year
• Luxe: 20,000, at $299.99 a year
• Elite: 55,000, at $799.99 a year
• Imperial: 125,000

Those are annual-billing rates, which is worth spelling out because the page leads with the monthly division of them. Standard's headline "$4.9 /mo" is $58.88 paid once a year, not $4.90 charged twelve times.

Each tier also carries a struck-through yearly figure, $79.88 against Standard's $58.88. The true month-to-month price is behind the billing toggle and I did not read it.

The free plan therefore buys unlimited chatting with the weakest models, plus 100 credits of anything better.

CrushOn's wiki prices those credits per message. An Ultra GPT-4 reply costs 12 credits on the 8K version and 21 on the 16K version, so a 2,000-credit month works out at roughly 95 of them by that arithmetic.

The same page caps Ultra models in absolute messages a month: 30 Ultra GPT-4 messages on Standard, 50 on Premium.

Read it with a date in mind. It was last edited on 27 May 2025, and its third tier, Deluxe, is now marked Retired on the live pricing page.

That pricing page has since grown Luxe, Elite and Imperial tiers the wiki never mentions.

CrushOn does sell real unlimited, separately. The pricing page offers a Pro Models Chat Package at $299.99 a year, shown as $24.99 a month, described as "unlimited, credit-free access to Pro Models".

It stacks on top of whatever membership you already pay for, and Ultra Models are not in it.

Candy AI: unlimited chatting, metered everything else

Candy AI's help centre lists two benefits for paid users: "Unlimited chatting" and 100 tokens a month.

Text really is uncapped there. Tokens pay for image generation, video, voice messages and custom characters, so every part of the conversation that is not text stays rationed.

Free accounts get five messages in total. What that boundary covers is in our Candy AI free tier piece.

Candy AI publishes no figure for how much of a conversation its models retain. I could not find one on the subscriptions page, in the on-site FAQ, or anywhere in the help centre.

Replika: no message cap in the published benefits

Replika runs the opposite model. Its help centre article "What is Replika Pro?" lists seven benefits, and not one of them is a message allowance.

Pro buys relationship status, unblurred messages and photos, premium activities, avatar customisation, voice messaging, background and AR calls, and premium voices. Replika gates content and features rather than volume.

It does publish a retention limit, and it is the clearest number any of the four gives. Chat history "is only available for the past four months", and older conversations "cannot be displayed or retrieved".

The same page says this does not affect what your companion has learned. A separate help article describes the memory system as working "without retaining a permanent record of your conversations".

Nomi: unlimited messaging is the thing you are buying

Nomi sells memory harder than the other three and publishes fewer numbers than any of them.

Its own FAQ says free accounts "include daily messages and images" without saying how many, and lists "unlimited messaging" among the premium features.

There is no public pricing page. Mapping nomi.ai on 19 August 2026 returned no pricing URL, and the plan detail sits behind the sign-in at beta.nomi.ai.

Memory gets the same treatment. The homepage promises "human-level memory" and the AI girlfriend page promises "persistent memory across thousands of messages", neither with a capacity figure attached.

Nomi's release note of 11 March 2025, "Major Memory Update: Expanded Capacity, Enhanced Retention", calls memory "significantly expanded" and says Nomis process "vastly more information". The only quantity in it is that they recall what happened "1,000+ messages ago" more clearly.

Where unlimited messages and unlimited memory come apart

A message cap and a context window are separate products, and only one of them is cheap to give away.

Letting you send more messages costs an operator inference time once per message. Letting the model see more of your history costs inference time on every reply forever, because the conversation gets re-read from the top each turn.

That asymmetry is why unlimited messages is the standard offer and unlimited memory never is.

CrushOn is unusual in pricing the second thing out loud. Its memory rows on 19 August 2026:

• Free: 8K memory, 200 historical chat messages for each character
• Standard: 16K, 300
• Premium: 16K, 400
• Luxe: 16K, 600
• Elite: 24K, 1,000

The two numbers do different jobs. The 8K or 16K figure is how much text the model reads before it replies. The 200 or 400 figure is how far back the chat log is kept for that character at all.

CrushOn's wiki is candid about what happens past the first number. The system "may loop in bits of previous conversation behind the scenes, helping the model stay consistent, even if its actual memory is short." That page was last edited on 26 June 2026.

Summaries are doing more work than you think

When a conversation outgrows the context window, platforms compress it rather than drop it. CrushOn charges for how often that compression runs.

Its pricing page gives Free and Standard a "Low-frequency Auto Summary", Premium and Luxe a medium-frequency one, and Elite and Imperial a high-frequency one.

Compression is lossy by design. Details survive as gist, which is how a companion ends up recalling that you have a sister and forgetting her name.

Retention is the limit nobody advertises

The harshest line in this set sits on CrushOn's free tier: "Chat History will be deleted after 7 days of inactivity".

Paid CrushOn tiers keep history "during the Membership Period", which ties your archive to an active subscription. Replika caps retrievable history at four months on every account, paid or not.

Unlimited messages and a seven-day deletion window sit on the same plan without contradicting each other. One governs how fast you can talk. The other governs what is still there next month.

Checking the claim before you pay

Read the memory row rather than the message row. An operator that names a context size, a historical-message count or a retention period has chosen to be measurable, and can be held to it.

Where "unlimited" sits next to a monthly credit allowance, treat them as two claims about two different things. On CrushOn's pricing page they appear in the same column.

Where no memory figure is published anywhere, as with Candy AI and Nomi, price the plan on messages alone and assume nothing about continuity.

Then test the gap yourself while a refund is still possible. Mention something specific and odd early on, chat well past the point where you would expect a reset, and ask about it later without hinting.
